As I mentioned in previous posts, Miyajima is full of friendly deer, all ambling about looking big-eyed and cute. Their friendly nature does occasionally waver into peskiness, and in an unquenchable quest for food they have been known to rummage through bags behind turned backs and eat the odd guide map. They make up for it however, by posing for close ups and letting you stroke them behind the ear.
