A few photos I took wandering around the beautiful island of Miyajima – home to the stunning Itsukushima shrine and hundreds of mischievous deer.

As always I enjoy your posts. What are those floating things in your last image, I am just curious.
I’m really not too sure. I am going to take a stab in the dark and say they are for fishing…?
Cool photos, as always. Itsukushima is probably Japan’s finest sight! Anyone agree? http://backpackerlee.wordpress.com/2014/02/24/the-itsukushima-shrine-at-miyajima/
Thanks! Like your photos of it too – very jealous that you went during the cherry blossom bloom? I wouldn’t argue that it is definitely one of Japan’s finest sights. My favourite sight is actually one of the temples in my home town – but that is just me being biased :)
The last picture is so beautiful..
